The closest airport to Down Hall, the ECEU venue, is Stansted Airport (STN), which is almost solely serviced by other European markets. It is just a twenty minute drive from the hotel down B183. A taxi from the airport usually tops out at about £23 for up to four people.

Of course, other London airports, London Gatwick (LGW) and London Heathrow (LHR), are also options for international travel.

Coming from downtown London, the best way to travel to the Essex/Hertfordshire is by train to the Bishop’s Stortford station, which takes approximately 30 minutes on the express train. We will be providing transport via coach from the train station to Down Hall from 8:00 – 9:15 AM and back again after the event ends. Stay tuned for more information on the coach shuttle.

From Heathrow Airport take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station, underground to Liverpool Street station, train to Bishop’s Stortford and then taxi (15 mins, £12)
From Gatwick Airport take the Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station, underground to Liverpool Street station, train to Bishop’s Stortford and then taxi (15 mins, £12)

If you find yourself getting to close to the event without a room, there are a few other options nearby Down Hall.

Pearse House is a charming Victorian Mansion full of character and set in its own grounds just 10 minutes from Down Hall. We do not have a block of rooms set up here, but usually the rates range between £60 and £125.

The Great Hallingbury Manor is only five minutes from Stansted Airport, and conveniently located near the M11 and A10 right in Bishop’s Stortford. The rates here usually range between £55 and £265.
